Ride the beautiful and surreal terrain of Iceland
This is an incredible opportunity to ride your bicycle around some of the most unique terrain in the world. Interested in going to an exotic location to ride, but love the comforts of a first world country that’s only a 5-hour direct flight from Washington, DC? Then Iceland is your place. We’ll stay in great hotels, eat some amazing food, travel to some of the classic “must-see” Icelandic locations, like the Blue Lagoon and take you on a special trip to “the beginning of the world”, that is a secret location only known to a couple hundred people. We’ll even do a “Midnight Sun” ride one night, since it’s “light” 24 hours a day there in the summer!
The goal of this cycling camp is of course to improve your cycling with some great coaching by Hunter Allen and his coaches, along with focusing on improving your ride skills and techniques, as well as, group riding techniques and strategies. You will learn the basics of training with power and HR and perceived exertion training. Iceland is a quiet place with only 350,000 inhabitants and quiet roads that are perfect for cycling. Iceland is cool in the summer with the temperatures only reaching upper 70’s, has incredible scenery, all the modern conveniences, incredibly friendly people, nice roads and it’s like “Yellowstone” everywhere with Geothermal vents spouting on the sides of the roads throughout the countryside.

We’ll ride onward to our secret location at the “beginning of the world” and then make our trek back west with our Midnight Sun ride beginning at 11pm and riding through the midnight hour! We will perform optional power tests and teach on-road skills throughout the week, to include various forms of rotating pace lines, corners, staying upright in surprising conditions, and much more!
Downtime:
While your days will be action-packed with breakfast, riding, and evening dinners, we have planned some great locations to visit and explore. Each day, we will be visiting a special location along with our great riding and make sure you have time to relax as well. There will be plenty for non-riding spouses to do each day and we’d love to have them along.
Weather:
Weather in Iceland is highly varied. In the summer, it is usually in the 60-70’s and almost never reaches 80. It could be cool in the 50-60’s as well and make sure you are prepared for a rain shower or two.
Your bike:
For those traveling by air you can either choose to take with you in your travels (our recommendation) or we can arrange a nice fast and light rental bike for you (additional cost). Our support team will assemble all bikes and be onsite to support those that are traveling with their bike.
